What's happening today.......

Well, three days in a row I have worked at the library. Fun. I didn't work there all summer, I was just too darned busy with our fixer and I didn't want to squeeze the library in to my tight summer schedule....you know, splash down, peach picking, floating, silverwood going.....and on and on.
Anyway, so, I got off work at the library, and I headed on over to the local thrift store, and you know what??? They must be able to read my mind. Every time I think I HAVE to find something, I do. Weird, huh.....:-) So, my need of today was an AB Lounge. I saw one on TV, and I definitely could use some major tummy toning.....and guess what.....They HAD one. Unbelievable. Can you imagine that??? Oh, and the BEST part is, that it was just $7.00. Yep, Wednesday is their 50% off store wide sale. I might even have to go back to find more crap I need. Kidding, Joe, don't have a heart attack.....Anyway, I am kind-of joking around here, (not about buying the Ab Lounge, because I did...) But the truth is, I can find something I want at a thrift store EVERY SINGLE time I go in there. I am just an easily pleased thrift store shopper. But, it IS so exciting I got the Lounger for that price, they normally go for over $100 buckaroos!!! So, Joe, be happy for me........just try......Don't take into consideration how many exercise machines I currently have, and how often I actually USE them.......:-( Today is a new day, and I am gonna be a work-out freak from now on. Oh, until I get a bit sore, then I might have to stop....you know, for safety reasons, I wouldn't want to throw my back out.....lol.....)
So, other news from today is that I am anxiously waiting to hear from my realtor, because the KW agents had tours today of all the new KW listings in CDA, and our house was one of the stops on the tour. I hope my agent knows that I only want to hear "good" feedback. She can just leave the "bad" stuff out. I don't need the truth, I want it SUGAR COATED, already. Duhhhhhhh. So, today she will be put to the test. If she wants to give us criticism, she needs to talk to my loving husband. His little feelings will NOT get hurt, as mine will. And, I put pumpkins and fall leaves and fall mums out on the porch, so that should be all that matters. Who gives two craps about the square footage, the fall decor looks cute. Priorities, people.
So, I am the official school popcorn popper for two weeks each month during this school year at miss D's school. The ex PTO prez, and previous popcorn connoisseur, who was TOTALLY anal about the popcorn popping abilities of anyone except herself, has happily resigned, and a new, nice PTO prez and staff has taken over. So, I am happy to help them out, and they obviously think I can run the popcorn popper with ease. Yep, I will show those screaming, hungry kids how popcorn is popped in this neck of the woods....
So, it is fall. Finally. I got a little ahead of myself in a previous blog, and I actually thought it was fall already. Well god, it FELT like it. Anyway, I love it. It is soup cookin', pie bakin', crisp morning season here in Post Falls. The trees are starting to turn and soon Joe will be off in the mountains hunting. (Is that what he calls it???) kidding honey, I know you are MR. Serious when it comes to getting your prized elk. Good luck, even thought ya don't need any....
Well, that is about it for now. Have a great day everyone!!!! Happy Fall!!!!

What just made my day???

Well, this may be considered a bummer to some of you, but I am super excited. I just might jump up and down.
Here it is......The Spokesman Review reported today that SNOW fell at the 6000 foot elevation of Mullan Pass yesterday. Woooo-Hoooo!!! I can almost feel it in the air. I can't wait till we can see snow on the peaks of the mountains around here in Post Falls. Unfortunately, it will be awhile. It always is. I will just have to sit and wait. Damn it anyway.

My new FAVE song of the week....

Check out this video. It is a bit racy and a bit "bad", but I still love it. The song sounds really great cranked up in the car!!! I HAVE to download it and burn it so I can play it over and over!!! Oh, and this is NOT the version you will see on MTV or VH1, it is the directors cut and it is not appropriate for regular TV. So, anyway, I am not gonna let miss D. watch this version, I'll wait for the G version to come out.....

Oh what a night....

Ok, I have been sick for the past month. Just don't feel right. Every time I eat, I feel miserable. Like super nauseous. Even alot of times when I don't eat. I have been to our family physician, and she wrote it off as heartburn...(I KNOW what heartburn is, lady....and this is NOT it...) So,anyway, I haven't been eating normally, I haven't been feeling normal, and then yesterday afternoon it took a major turn for the worse.

I went to pick Danielle up at cross country, feeling like crap, and when I got home, I started a 3 hour vomiting spree that would NOT end. Even though my stomach was like....empty after the 1st hour, I still had to camp out in the bathroom. So, after feeling like I was literally going to DIE after 3 hours of misery, I decided to go to the doctor and try to get some pills to keep me from being so sick to my stomach and vomiting. All I wanted to do was feel good enough to lay down. All I wanted was to stop the cycle.

So, off to the immediate care we go, and next thing you know, I was laying in the ER in CDA and I was getting 2 bags of fluids pumped into me by an IV that was put in by a nurse that couldn't find a decent vain too easily, because I was sooooo dehydrated. So, they pumped nausea meds through the IV, gave me a little morphine, and I was still feeling quite miserable, but after about 4 hours, I was feeling good enough that I could actually go home. God, how did that happen??? I have no clue. My blood tests did come up elevated on the white blood cell count, and the doctor definitely thought something was wrong, (DUuuuuhhhhh) but felt like I could go home and pay close attention to how I am feeling, so that if it gets any worse, I would go back. So, after little sleep last night, I woke up today not vomiting, thank god, but I also still don't feel quite right. Still feeling pretty sick. Who knows, hopefully it is just a bout with the flu, and I will be feeling better in no time...I really don't want to see another toilet up close for a REALLY LONG TIME.

Oh where, oh where has my husband gone????

Ok, I know where he has gone. I just can't keep track of it sometimes. He is currently in.....uhhhhhhh......Montana. I think. Earlier this week he was in Salt Lake, then off to Pocatello, oh and he made a stop somewhere in between I believe, then it was off to Missoula, Helena, and then hopefully he will make it to Kellogg sometime tomorrow before our meeting with our dear old accountant.
Today Danielle and I made a world record I am sure in how many activities you can cram into the hours after school. First, we did cross country practice. Then, we took off for home to shower up and then headed off to a BBQ/open house/teacher meeting at her school. Fun. I wished Joe could have been there....and then we were off to hip-hop practice. She is currently there as I type this post, and I need to type faster cause the SUV is calling me....so, off I go to pick her up and then we are back here to finish up her third grade work load of homework. Why the heck do these kids need that much homework??? Especially when you keep the kind of schedule we do....gosh, don't they know we are too busy for school??? Lol...Anyway, I'm off....

Oregon Duck has issues......

I love it when team mascots get in fights with their costumes on. It looks so funny.
I saw this article in the local paper today, and I got a huge kick out of it. Basically, the Oregon mascot, the duck, was offended by the Houston mascot, the cougar, when he imitated push-ups that the duck does every time Oregon scores. I also read that Oregon has some sort of contract with Disney, because the duck mascot is called Donald Duck. I wonder how this will effect that contract?? Anyway, view the video, it is quite funny.

Joe's new hunting "rig"

Look what we bought. Joe has been looking and looking for an old, small four wheel drive that he can take into the woods and not worry about getting it scratched, getting it dirty, etc. So, recently he found out that this one was for sale, and he jumped on the chance to get it. So far we really like it, and I think it will be the perfect hunting rig for Joe. It's really small so I am sure he will be able to take it on little trails that big trucks can't go on. And, it reminds me of the old days when I drove my parents little Suzuki samurai around when I was in high school.

Before and after dining room...

This dining room is NOT as small as it looks in the pictures. It is actually bigger than the one in our house, and it has a bar.

Oh, the wonders of fall....

First, I wonder when someone will buy our fixer. It is FINALLY on the market, (Yeah, us) and we are anxiously waiting for someone to LOVE it. We do, but I suppose mostly we love it because it is DONE. Well, we do need to clean out the garage and the cabinets in the kitchen, but those things can wait... It is just so cute, I don't know how anyone could resist buying it

Second, I wonder how I am going to continue to stay up way to LATE (summer hours)in the evening, and then get up and get Danielle ready for school at what seems like the crack of dawn. She is super tired also, but I am hoping we will get used to these "new" hours. I think I would do just about anything to get to stay in bed longer in the mornings. Isn't she old enough to get herself ready by now??? Kidding....don't call CPS.

Also, I wonder when the Hunter's "Bug" (as I call it), will get to Joe. I think he is getting excited already. Bow hunters are already up and at 'em around here. But Joe just likes to shoot the big guns, so he will patiently wait.

I wonder why I want a turkey sandwich so bad right now. Should I cook a turkey? Or would that make the thanksgiving turkey taste "less" good?

I wonder why everyone doesn't LOVE fall football like I do. We traveled to lakeside last night to see the tiger boys win. It was such a nice night to be wrapped up in a blanket and cheering your team on. It just doesn't get any better than that!!!

I wonder when Nieko is going to die of starvation. He seems like he barely eats. He begs for our food like he hasn't eaten in weeks. I am not sure why he is begging so bad lately, but I think it might have had something to do with Tom feeding him fried chicken all night last weekend.....Thanks, Tom.....:-) You want to adopt a puppy???

I wonder if there are a few huckleberries left in those hills. I am soooo bummed that I have not picked yet, and I drove around and looked last weekend, but I know we did not go high enough. So, I may just be out of luck. Although, my dad said he would take me up towards Stevens peak in my grandpa's 1970 something pickup. Why shouldn't I want to drive in a truck that had it's breaks go out and roll before?? Last time grandpa took me huckleberry picking in that truck it died on top of the steepest hill I had ever been on in my life, and I was too nice to ask if I could just get the heck out of the truck because I thought we were soooooo gonna die. Sounds like fun.

Anyways, I added a fall picture to this post and then a couple of our fixer. Have a great weekend everyone!!!! Who am I kidding, I should just say.."Have a great weekend Lynsey.." It seems she is the only one who still reads this crap...

Did he, or didn't he???

Here's the scandal of the week. Idaho Sen. Larry Craig has been trying to defend himself after he pleaded guilty to a charge that occurred while in an airport bathroom stall. I am sick of hearing about it already, but it has something to do with some "advances" he made to an undercover police officer in Minnesota. Ok, who knows what REALLY happened that day. He is saying that it was just a mis-understanding, and he had NO idea what those advances were. It was all an accident. His grown children were on the news this morning defending him, and sticking with his story of the misunderstanding.

So.....do I think he did it?? I don't know. Who knows. I hadn't even heard of these foot tapping, hand waving, signals that supposedly mean you want to "get together" with someone in a rest-room. I am assuming that some people do know, because there was an officer trying to find people doing this, but I think alot of the public had no idea what that crap meant.

Don't get me wrong, I AM NOT a fan of Senator Craigs, somewhat because he is the big "R", but I am wondering if this all was a weird mistake, or was it the truth, because he did try to sweep the conviction under the rug and pretend it never happened. I personally think that he made a HUGE mistake by doing that, and even IF he isn't guilty, he made himself look guilty by doing that. There. I put my two cents in. For all it's worth

What Now????

I am sitting here feeling very alone. Oh, maybe it is because I AM. I just dropped Danielle off at school, for her first day. She was all smiles. Well, except for the fact that she nearly killed herself on the metal stairs leading up to our house at the river this weekend. Yep, MAJOR injury's occurred. Her mouth was bleeding from the inside, and outside. Her legs produced huge bumps and bruises on her shin bones within seconds of the fall. Her hips have some of the hugest bruises I have EVER seen. Her chin and lip are so swollen that she can barely eat. She looks like she got mauled by a huge grizzly bear and barely survived. But, you know what, that is how I feel today. I am just kind-of wandering around wondering what to do. I spent the entire summer with this awesome little girl. Most of the time Daddy was at work, so we had some major girl time to use up. And believe me, we used it well. The only thing I could have hoped for this summer, was that it did not end so soon.
So, now she is back to her school and her routine, and I am left here wondering how I am going to get back into being alone while I clean, go to the store, bake, and whatever else I will do. I have got to say, I would rather be doing it with her. Pathetic, huh.
Oh, and just one shout out to Danielle today..."Have an awesome day today miss D!!!!!"
